Great to be at the Institute in Eston tonight for a busy and lively community meeting for Eston Ward (includes Whale Hill, Bankfields, Lackenby, Lazenby and Wilton).

How we’re levelling up in our area

Chatting to the BBC yesterday about how we’re regenerating Redcar & Cleveland - improving our high streets and supporting tourism here.

Here’s a small list of what we’re doing:

£8 million regeneration for Eston Square

ESTON EQUITATION CENTRE

Great to visit the Horse Riding School in Eston today, to speak to the owners and hear some of challenges facing them.

I also got to meet the beautiful Sprite, who has been training riders here for years.

Down at South Gare with Bloodrun Emergency Voluntary Service (EVS) to help promote the great work the charity does in rapidly distributing blood supplies to local hospitals and healthcare settings.

Great to be at St Hilda’s on Roseberry Road this afternoon for the licensing of the new vicar, Jane Robson.

Good fun at the Redcar derby this afternoon.

Couldn’t be there for the whole game but joined for the second half.

Great to see two of our local teams on the pitch today.

Redcar Central Ticket Office has been earmarked for closure, and will be replaced by a member of staff manning the platform instead.

You can still get tickets from the machine.

There will still be a member of staff on the platform.

I would like to congratulate Anna Turley on her selection, and I look forward to an interesting and robust compaign.

Tonight in Parliament, we overturned the Lords in 18 Amendments to the Illegal Migration Bill.

I am told this was a new record in Parliament - we haven’t had 18 consecutive votes in recent history… taking some 3.5hours.
